“The biggest difference between 2017 and 2016 was that I wasn’t really in the process of building an empire,” he said.
“I had an epiphany, a vision of what I wanted to do with my life and my life’s work.”
After leaving his law firm and founding the nonprofit group “Rethinking Christianity” in 2015, Johnson moved into the private sector, where he is CEO of the online platform Christian Business Network.
“When I think about my work, it is primarily focused on helping people make a positive change in their lives and to have a greater sense of purpose,” he added.
“In this business, we’re not looking to create an empire, we just want to help people to feel a sense of accomplishment and purpose in their life.”
Johnson said the real challenge in 2017 was “getting our culture to change.”
“In order for Christianity to thrive, we need to stop talking about how bad things are, we want to be good,” he explained.
“We need to be focused on how we can change the culture around Christianity.”
